Thanks Joanie...still smiling with the guru thing.. Here's another one... since this painting it's difficult to guess: i'll give to hints : it was a women that painted it and it was done in 1596. I can't get enough showing women artists (sorry guys) because i've been denied our valour (althought, still a tiny little bit in our days). So i homage them how defy anyone to continue to paint their business special in those times... All the best Nair

I think Imageshack (or whatever) is down at the moment and the link isn't working. I'm looking forward to this one. And I agree with Joanie - you're pretty amazing at this history of art thing!

She paints nearly as good as a man ;D
Fede Galizia "Judith with the Head of Holofernes"
Just kidding, please don't serve my head up on a platter. I've seen several paintings on this theme by artists around this period. I first thought of Carravagio's gruesome version, which lead me to Fede. There were some really good women artists for sure.

"pretty amazing? ? I must say - Nair - you are a professionel concerning art history! How can one single woman know so much about art history - unbelievable great! I too can't get imageshack - but I often have problems there. Maybe it would be better to post our pics at photobucket?
