Nice job on the koala Brian, he's real cute and a great big hug right back at ya! (LOL! ...Cracking the whip) get on with that landscape Rose, I'm looking forward to seeing the finished piece. What medium are you using; pastels, acrylics? Fortunately, I'm doing mine on drafting film so it doesn't need as many layers otherwise I'd be still doing it at Xmas.

Well here is my landscape for what it's worth.. this was very much a stop-start job in the little bits of time I could wedge in. It's acrylics on paper 10x7 ( the colours are not quite what they are in real life but they'll do)

Great job on the koala, Brian - glad to see you participating............miss you and hugs right back to ya. Rose - good going on the acrylics - it's hard to devote much time to a project when you have a lot going on around you. Believe me, I know. I know landscapes are not your thing but you did well at it anyway.

Great job on the landscape Rose. I particularly like the blues in the mountains and distant hills and you did a great job of the sky too. When I first saw that reference picture I thought it would look good in acrylics, and it does! Its interesting, I missed out the buildings too! I was going to crop it like you have but in the end I stuck with the reference crop, well almost!
After cracking the whip to you yesterday, I did very little of mine, so I better get that whip out again and threaten myself with it, LOL! Should hopefully be finished it in a couple of days, not sure I'm liking it yet though! It may be my first and only landscape!

WOW Ema! That is fantastic. The detail you have put in the centre of the flower is excellent and the petals look so fragile Your first try with CP's.....you are a natural. Well done!

Wow Ema! I looked at your drawing before reading anyone else's comments and my reaction was exactly like theirs - you are a natural with colour!! Wonderful!
Your rendering does something to me - I respond with excitement and awe... hard to explain but I feel strangely touched by it - it's luminosity, drama and fragility at the same time. I'm totally impressed!

Wow Ema, this is wonderful! Very colorful and living. Which pencils did you buy?
Rose, I love your "hillscape" ;D very very much. I really have no idea why you don't do a landscape more often.

Ema!!!!! You've been way too modest about your drawing abilities - this is gorgeous! Great form and shading.
Yes! Please tell us the kind of pencils & paper you used & how you like them. Also please tell us when we can expect more colored pencil drawings/paintings from you!

wow, ho my god you are always so kind , didn't expct so much reaction lol I bough Caran D'Ache cp's trilux.org/img/thumbsdir/orig-pencils_test.jpg and the paper is, well we call it "papel cavalinho" is what we used for visual education at school, i have an old block in my room and i though it would do, and it did i think... the tradution is something as "horsy paper" (you should find it stupid)

Yes but look what you can do when you push yourself Tim! HeHe! You did a great job, he looks so soft and cuddly.
I am working on mine, honestly! I wish I'd done it in pastels now, CP's take so long. I should just get it finished before the deadline.

Ema: I have a set of 30 Caran D'Ache too and they were actually the first coloured pencils I bought though mine are called Supracolor. I suppose you realise they are water soluble so you can also use them with water to obtain a water colour effect. Here's a link to the Caran D'Ache brochure which briefly explains all the techniques you can use with water. That said, I really love the Caran d"Ache for their soft, buttery feel even when used dry. I produced my first ever butterfly using them - it still has that lovely glossy look. Tim: I think we really need to drag you out of the Bistro and slap you around a bit! You produce lovely work when we corner you! Well done! I love your koala.

So this is my attempt at the landscape. I found it very hard and have rushed to finish it tonight so I'm not happy with the mountains on the viewers left. It's CP's on drafting film. Sorry about the quality of the photo, my scanner is playing up. Any C&C's greatly received as this is my first landscape and I am keen to learn. My other half says the person is too big, and I tend to agree with him!

Gosh Andrea, this is awfully wonderbeautifulnice!!! You truly are a master of CPs because this one was totally hard to do with CPs! I love the old woman in the foreground walking into the mountains.
How large it is?
