I've just gotten some new art supply catalogs and a new (to me) watercolor paper is listed at a very good price. Since it's an Italian paper, I was wondering if any of you had used it. Here's a link to a description of it. www.paper.com/magnani/

Hey Joanie,
I was just trying to get some information on this paper from anyone who had used it. It's quite a bit cheaper than other papers and appears to be just as acid free/archival as others. However, sometimes even when paper sounds as good as others, it doesn't always work as well.
I think I'll order a small-sized block and just check it out. ASW has it at $13.28 for a block that's 7x10 & that's not such a bad price. They also have 6x6 pads for $8.40 - I just prefer the blocks. But, it will be a while before I order as shipping is so high that I want to wait until I need other items to put with it.
Anyway, if you do decide to order some, check prices at the various art supply sites as the price varies a bit. (I just posted the website above because they seemed to offer the best description of it.)
Oh, Dick Blick has it in their catalog so they may have it in their store also. Don't you have a store fairly close to you?

I'm not in the market for any paper right now, but yes, I do have a Dick Blick in (St. Louis) Clayton, MO which is about a 40 minute drive from me. They also don't always have in stock the items that are in the catalog. They will order them for you and then you have to come and pick them up when they arrive. (not very cost efficient after you figure in the time and gas that it costs to get there!) LOL
