Please Rose, tell me there is more you can tell me about the "Bird Lady"!There have to be a story 'cause a picture haven't spoke to be as this one in a while.
The Lady seems of age,but her skin look as silk. There is sadness in her eyes, but she manage to smile.
Does Romans wear wedding ban on left hand?If so,has she ever knew true love or the lost of it is the sadness she see?

Hi Ted,I think it is no wedding ban - it isn't the ringfinger and romans wear like all europeans a wedding ban on the ringfinger. But you are right, there is kind of sadness around this woman. Will you do this photo as a challenge??? Oh please - it seems to be perfect for you.

Oh Ted how fun! yes, do let's make up a story about the Birdlady. As Martina says, what she is wearing is not a wedding band but a signet ring.
But she was married once you know - she was a very beautiful girl in her youth with skin as smooth as satin. So many men wanted her. When she did marry though, she chose unwisely. The marriage did not last very long and since then she has found it hard to ever trust again. That is where the sadness comes from.
But she loves the birds. Every morning she goes down to the piazza with her birdseeds. She sits at the little open cafe in the corner and orders a bottle of water. The pigeons know her and come to say hello the minute she is seated... they know she has come for them.
And then her face lights up... the sadness is still there deep inside, but with the birds she feels safe, she feel useful, she feels loved and wanted... and she smiles.
LOL - now are you going to draw her Ted!! No more stories until you do.!!
I must apologise and make a correction about picture 1. Alex has finally accorded me some time to talk to him about the photos and he has told me that the first picture was not taken in Rome but in Florence. So the river would not the be Tiber but the Arno.
He said the building you see more or less in the center (jutting out more that the others) is the back of the Galleria degli Uffizzi which is of course an art museum. The loggia - that is the arched walkway runs from the Palazzo Vecchio, over Ponte Vecchio (the most loved bridge in Florence) to the Uffizzi and on and on to Palazzo Pitti.
So, there's a bit of background to that one too.

I misplaced my lengthy explanation about the woman. She is the head of Interpol she is using courrier pigeons to keep her field operatives informed ( she can't use her cell phone because it is being tapped by the CIA) .Her signet ring makes her a member of Opus Dei in the lower left hand corner is the crumpled body of Dr Robert Langdon .The wistful look that she has on her face is because he was running through the piazza and she stuck her leg out and tripped him. Bwahahaha

Well if that what it take to hear more about the bird lady;I might try to do a quick drawing of her.But don't look for anything soon, haven't done anything else on the WIP yet.
And Rose don't let Tim's making fun of your story get you down,,I thought it was cute, Not all men are like that.In fact,he is like that only when he is drinking and that is only on week ends and during the week.
But you have to say he can draw a pretty good chipmunk,,even when he is on the juice.

" On that note I have to get back to work" Tim,,old buddy, you might want to PM Bird ,being she live in Canada also. She might make some phone calls and see if it is legal to work patient in the mental ward. I really think they are taking advantage of your condition. You are too nice of a guy for that. ================================================ I guess it's time for me to pay my tab and go home,,, I have totally wrecked the topic for Rose.

Gosh Rose, this challenge is really challenging! I started the landscape that isn't really a landscape but more a "buildingscape" ;D but must say I made a huge kuddelmuddel. ;D And now - the one who tells us what a kuddelmuddel is will get a karma-point from me.

I will tell you what kuddelmuddel is if you tell me what tahwida is! I too am painting the landscape and it is extremely slow going. I thought I might do away with some of the detail.. but that's not easy since the building is a big part of the attraction of the scene. I'm just hoping that once I do finish the building the rest would be a little quicker.

Finally here's my week's work. The picture is taken in artificial light so it's a little off balance - the lower end of the painting is not as dark as it appears here nor the very top so light. I shall take another picture in the daylight but I was so happy to have finished it at last that I just had to post it. So here is my effort for this challenge: Serene Florence - acrylic on paper 14x10
