Nice job on the boys Joanie! I'm slowly trying to establish some sort of routine that gives me time for a little bit of art so you may say I am slowly easing myself back into it again. I chose the easiest of your pictures Martina and still this turned out very much in the spirit of.... so glad I learned what that means! The major drawback was my choice of paper. I wanted to use black paper but the only kind of black I have is a rather smooth sort of scrap book paper so it doesn't hold the pastels well at all.. and especially does not allow for much blending. Still... it's a try:

Me too, it looks translucent at the top and bubbly where the candle wax has heated up. Fantastic.

Nice, Rose. I can see you had some problems with the paper - the glow from the flame seems off a little.

lol Tim, just post it as a abstract candle. Rose, I too like it very much. If I wanted you all to copy the pics I would have said it - so I like how your candle turned out. Hmmmm - do we have weekend yet?

Here is my candle. I did it ATC size, for a fall/Halloween trade, assuming this would be okay with you Martina??? Please!

Of course Paulette!! It is wonderful! And it makes me glad that you use it for an ATC trade.
And what did you use? CP? I cannot figure it out.

See - now we have an early third Advent! ;D I too made the candle as an ATC - some days ago but couldn't show it earlier because the new owner has got it today. As always - ;D colored pencils (Prismas and Colorsofts - the fit grrrreat!) - this time on very smooth drawing board.

I too made the candle as an ATC - some days ago but couldn't show it earlier because the new owner has got it today. And guess who the proud owner is - ME!! That extremely beautiful ATC came as part of a card with some very lovely and touching words written on it - a birthday card from Martina. I saw it yesterday but actually the card had arrived the day before. Martina had written on the envelope - DON'T OPEN BEFORE 16. OCTOBER. So hubby became a conspirator with Martina and kept it till my birthday. I was so very touched. The scanned candle doesn't hold a candle to the real one - it's just lovely!
