This is something I worked on all day today - it felt good to work on something and complete it in one day. It is only my second color pencil drawing that I have completed. I haven't been very successful working with my color pencils but this one I actually like. It is 9x12 and done on double sided matte finish Duralar. It is my first on Duralar and I loved it. It felt soooooo smooth. All C & C welcome. Photo from Morguefile by jpkwitter.

I always forget to check the members albums but I'm glad I peeked in here! This is fantabulous! I had to look twice to determine which was the ref photo and which was the painting! Way to go, Joanie! More! More!

I'm really having fun now..................this is another CP on drafting film.... the picture came from WetCanvas - I've been meaning to do this one for a long time. It's not as good as the other, but I had fun doing it and learned a few things too! Thanks, Jan, Paulette and Margaret for the kudo's.

Wonderful, Joanie!!!!! I like this as much as the other one but did you mean to leave the shutter and other lamppost thingy unpainted?

Actually, they are painted, Jan. LOL The reference picture showed them white because of the light shinning on them so I left them that way also.
What I could use help with is how to paint foliage in CP........mine aren't very good but I would like to do landscapes in CP but am not sure how to tackle it. These bushes are pretty lame but they will do for now.

Uh Oh! I'm sorry, Joanie! It just looked a little unfinished to me. What about adding a tad bit of light yellow with some very light lavender shading to give it a more finished look? I really like this piece a lot & just thought you'd forgotten those areas.
I'm not much of a landscape painter in cp but what about starting with yellow or yellow-green in the areas where sun would hit the bushes/trees then proceed to darker colors the further from the light source? You could add some very dark darks in some "holes" and some sky blue in other "holes" - does that work for you?
These last two painting are so good that I really would like for you to continue on with CP.

Wow, you are doing really well with CP's Joanie, this is lovely. I can't offer any advice on foliage or landscapes though I'm afraid, I'm useless at them!

Good idea, Jan. I'll try that. You are right, it does look a bit "unfinished" with that light so white.
