This is a little tiny acrylic painting that I did years ago. It looks very primative because it is so small. I did a whole series of them and sold them on ebay. The size of the picture is 1 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches

I love this little painting. I imagine that it actually must be more difficult to work on such a small scale than on a bigger canvas. Very lovely!

I love it too and don't find that it looks primitive.
Miniatures are not very easy to paint - and I adore this very much because you've done it with acrylics. I think to draw a miniature with CP is much easier.

I think what I mean by primitive is that it is so simple with not a lot of details involved. And yes, they are harder to do than large paintings.
It requires the use of specialty brushes that have only a few hairs in them. I've done more complicated ones but I haven't located the pictures of them yet on my computer and I sold them on ebay.

This is great stuff Joanie. I have a hard time telling which one I like best - I like the boldness of the lighthouse.. but then I love the dreamy quality of Snooze Hotel... and then again I'm so attracted by the naif expression of the rooster painting..... and...
Really excellent work! Love it!

Joanie, Joanie, Joanie!!! These painting are totally amazing. Every single one. My VERY favorite is the "Foggy dock" and the pic on the cigar box. And I know some painters you did painting after - counts this for the challenge too???

These are just wonderful! What did you use as a support for the teeny tiny paintings? I can't imagine a stretched canvas or even canvas board that small!
I don't know which one I like best - I think Foggy Docks or St. Simon's lighthouse or the Dorothy Dent ------ Help! I like them all.
The candlestick in your still life is especially wowzers! Most people have a really hard time painting brass or gold or other metals but yours is sooooo well done.

Thank you everyone for your comments. It took me most of the day to dig out all of these paintings I had stored away in various places around the house. LOL
Jan - the tiny painting is done on paper canvas. You buy it in a tablet form. It is just like canvas but it is stiff like cardboard. You can use any medium on it. The stil life picture didn't photograph well - it looks like there is a white frost on everything. It looks much better in real life.
My favorite is the lighthouse - when you look at it close up, it really has a more realistic look than most paintings that I do.
I enjoy doing the acrylic copies of Betty Caithness...................she is my favorite acrylic artist - I like the style of the paintings that she does. I have almost all of her painting packets (she doesn't have any books written) and I have 2 video's of hers. I was fortunate enough to meet her at an Art Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana and talked with her for quite some time. She is a lovely person as well as a talented artist.
Martina - you are a little stinker!!! LOL

Es demasiado caro enmarcar tanto y no los vendo así no tengo que enmarcar. Por favor
