This was just from my imagination, not finished yet as I'm not sure what to put with it ie: grass or more leaves or just a col back ground? Any way be my guest say what you think as it's the only way I will get it right lol. ;D

Hey wow Margaret!
This is beautiful! What medium did you use? Hm - as for the background - hm..... I think I would darken it, maybe a kind of brownish back would lift the colors.

Great job Margaret. I think I would go for a dark background too.

Pansies! I love pansies! And what sweet faces your pansies have. This is a very pretty piece.
I agree with everyone else, your background would look great in a dark color - push your darks in the flowers/leaves for more variety too if you can.

A background would look nice ................but you could also leave it as is to look like a "botanical" painting too. Very nice Margaret I'm not that good with CP's yet - so it's hard for me to critique very well - but I will agree with Jan (who is very good at them) that perhaps a few more darks to set off the lights. I can see you've put some time into this one. I'm so glad to see you have jumped right in and joined us - we love seeing new faces around here and making new friends.

Very nice Margaret. Everyone has already said what I wanted to say.... guess I came in too late huh! The only thing I might add, and this is really nitpicking, is that , depending on what effect you are after you might try to lose any hard outlines. Otherwise this is really a lovely piece of work. Well done!

Alas my drawing of the pansies has died this is what not to do if you have pet's, I had just finished the back ground for the pansies and had put it out on a small coffee table, I had been drawing in my conservatory as it was a nice sunny day I let my pet parrot out for a fly around, went to open the door to a friend went back to put Trev [the parrot he is a Indian Ringneck] back in his cage and he had my drawing in his beak by the time I had got it back it was a full of holes and in two pieces little $%^&**. Lol I should have known better.

LOL! Oh that's a shame Margaret. Sounds like an excuse I'd give for not handing in my homework in the olden days! Even parrots are art critics these days! ;-) Looking forward to seeing your next one, but I think it should be a parrot free zone from now on!
