Very good, Tim! I still love digital but haven't done much of it lately.
I guess we'll have to ask Martina to be sure but, I think that's a chipmunk, isn't it? He's cute no matter what he is!

Now Chap is ready to be presented! Because many of you got out of the comfort zone I did the same and used watercolors this time. It is about 150x150mm - I cropped it because the background want's even very nice.

Great job Martina. He's very cute and the twigs and bark are very good too! I'm struggling with my last bit now; the red leaves; you did an excellent job on them! Hoping to finally finish it today after work.

Oh well, better late than never. I've been unwell so was delayed finishing this, it's only my 2nd pastel so don't be too harsh on me! I'm not sure I like the background but I'm pretty happy with the chipmunk .

Excellent Andrea!! Bravo!! Don't be afraid of the dark, not even in pastels. As in all media a deep contrast of values always adds drama and movement and dimension. Don't pack away those pastels - you do wonderfully well with them!

Thanks for your lovely comments guys. You are right Rose it needs more shadows, I can see that when I convert it to B&W. Bit sick of it now though so may add them at a later date!
