Just a quick doodle of your son Paulette on a bit of paper that wasn't even clean! My apologies to Douglas.

Way to go, Rose and Martina!
Martina - good idea to combine your watercolors and your pencils! It turned out fantastic. Very realistic too. ;D ;D

Thank you so much Joanie and Jan and Rose. These russian wc are such great, they took the CPs much better than Winsor &Newton and muchmuchmuch better than Schmincke.
Great sketch, Rose, I think Douglas will like it.

Beautiful job on the bird Martina!!!
Great job Rose, especially since I know that, that photo won't zoom much more than it is. You caught the intent look, the light and the balancing. Douglas will definitely like it!

Fantastic bird Martina. I love it. Lovely sketch Rose, some people would have to spend hours to get a drawing to look as good as that and you call it a doodle!

Thanks Paulette, Andrea, Miranda.
I guess the face is not bad for a freehand quickie. The arms are too short though and the hands too small. Still it was good to draw.
You know I miss those times when I used to draw something almost every day.

Great job on the bird Miranda. These guys were so intent on the feast before them, that they didn't care that I was snapping pictures and getting closer.

Way to go, Miranda. Nice job, especially on so small a backing.
Paulette - I was wondering how you got so close to that bird. I figured you must have a telephoto lens or something. Great picture. Hope I can get to one of these before its over.

All I can say is that I wish I could doodle half as well as you, Rose! It looks good to me.
Martina, are your w/c's "Yarka" brand? I've heard those are very good at a very good price but have never known anyone who used them.
Neat bird, Miranda! It's so good to see you posting your art again!

Sweet bird, Miranda. This evening, TV was boring so I made the sunset. CPs and a Micron Pigma pen 0,1 The pic is ATC size: I have no idea why the scan is such light, in real it is is much darker.....

I knew that the sunset would be popular...lol. Great job on the paintings everyone. I was torn between doing the boy and sunset. I couldn't get the pic cropped the way I wanted with the boy, so here is the sunset. I used Cad Orange, Cad Yellow Light, Pthalo Blue and Ultramarine. Most of this was brushwork, but the light on the water was done with knife. 12x16 oil on canvas panel.

Another nice one, Martina! I agree on the plein air for both of you - you ought to plunk your easels down right beside the ocean or the mountains and paint away!

Martina, Great work, I'm afraid you have it wrong though, we only saw dolphins in the water, no whales.LOL Grampy, Beautiful! You caught the colour of the water, it had a kind of liquid silver look to it all week, especially when it was calm.
